He is widely renowned as a master of Iaido a style of swordsmanship which involves the user rapidly unsheathing his blade to slash the enemies and then re-sheathing it after completing the attack. However, Iaidō is a very modern term focussing more on the general philosophy behind the martial art. The general translation would be the Way of Iai.
